Meet The Face Behind, Leading Edge Home Inspections, LLC

I’m Timothy Lee, proud owner of Leading Edge Home Inspections, LLC.

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

After nearly 30 years of being on call 24x7, I decided it was time for me to do something that afforded me the opportunity to control my own schedule. My extensive background in facilities and systems maintenance allowed me to become a home inspector because it was ideally suited to that business.

I had been inspecting officially for two years when I realized I needed a change, and while I have helped set up businesses for people who desired to go into business, this is my first time taking on a full-time business solely for me.

All new businesses take time to establish, and mine has been no exception. Over the past couple of years, I noticed that I have been able to handle storms, and at this point, the business has grown to a position that I'm either going to have to hire an additional inspector or start turning down jobs. It's a great position to be in.

I really enjoy the hands-on aspect of what I do and the chance to help people make good decisions, especially first-time home buyers. Buying or selling a home is a major financial commitment, and it can come with a lot of stress. I try to help minimize that stress by providing accurate and timely information to make sound financial decisions.

I strive to achieve 100% customer satisfaction and improve some aspects of what I do with every home inspection. There are always new things to learn (especially when it comes to new construction materials), and being on the "Leading Edge" helps keep me focused on improving every day.

I grew up on a farm, and the values instilled in me are pretty straight-forward; do what you say you're going to do and do it right. As an individual, I believe this is what sets me apart from the others. I attribute my success to word of mouth and consistently keeping my clients happy, before, during, and after the inspection.

I did an inspection for free for a fellow veteran who needed help, but could not afford it. Everyone has to make a dollar to survive; making a difference is what counts in the grand scheme of things. This is one major instance that gave me immense satisfaction over the years.

If I'm not inspecting, I'm usually working on a project or helping someone else with something. When I do take some downtime, I like to go visit faraway places with unique histories.

I'm not out to change the world; I'll leave that up to the younger generation. I do think we'd be better off with less technology and more common sense, but that's just not our society.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
